Homemade gummy treats are a fun and versatile way to add some nourishing vitamins into your day.
Peach Mango Electrolyte Gummies and Cherry Vitamin C Gummies
Ingredients
Peach Mango Electrolyte Gummies
Peach Mango Electrolyte Powder (or flavor of choice): 1 scoop
Filtered Water: 1 cup
Gelatin Powder: 3 TBSP
Fresh Lime or lemon: 1 half juiced (optional)
Silicone Gummy/Candy Molds
Cherry Vitamin C Gummies
Tart (unsweetened) Cherry Juice: 1 cup
Acerola Cherry Powder: 3 tsp
Gelatin Powder: 3 TBSP
Honey (or other sweetener): 3 TBSP (or to taste)
Silicone Gummy/Candy Molds

Instructions
Pour liquid (water or juice) into a small pot and slowly whisk in powders (electrolyte or acerola), followed by gelatin powder. Let mixture sit for about 5 minutes before placing on stove on low heat to dissolve gelatin. Once fully dissolved, but not simmering, take off heat and mix in lemon/lime juice or honey. Set silicone molds (we love these little animal ones and Lego ones like these) onto a cookie sheet to keep stable. Using a dropper, or pouring carefully, transfer the warm gummy mixture into the molds and place in the fridge for an hour or more to solidify. Once firm, simply pop the gummies out of the mold and enjoy!

Notes
Store the gummies in the fridge in an airtight container and consume within the week. Make sure the electrolytes in the electrolyte recipe are pretty dissolved before pouring into molds, it can also help to whisk the liquid in between pouring/dropping into molds to help with even dispersion.
Why these ingredients?
Electrolytes and vitamin C are the stars in these gummy recipes; there are many good electrolyte brands out there (I’ve tried and like the brands Key Nutrients, Ultima, and LMNT), feel free to experiment with different brands and flavors to find what you like.
Acerola cherries are a superfood, extremely high in vitamin C and full of phytonutrients! We prefer to get our vitamins directly from a plant source, and acerola cherries are one of the best when it comes to high vitamin C content. The acerola powder I like to use is pure, organic, freeze dried acerola cherries (nothing added) from Perfect Supplements, which use an independent third party lab to test for purity.
Tart cherry juice adds a deeper cherry flavor to the one provided by the acerola powder and is full of antioxidants. I find that stronger juice flavors make tastier gummies; when the gelatin solidifies the juice it diminishes the flavor intensity, so a potent liquid is important.
Gelatin is used to thicken and give the gummies their texture, as well as providing some collagen for the body. Without waxes, starch, or corn syrup, these healthy homemade gummies have a more Jello-like texture than conventional gummies.

Honey is a great sweetener with a multitude of nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins. Maple syrup, monk fruit, agave, or cane sugar also work in gummy recipes.
Electrolytes are necessary for proper body functioning, and include sodium, potassium, chloride, magnesium, zinc, calcium, and more. Electrolytes help to maintain blood pressure, regulate heart rate, balance fluids, rebuild tissue, hydrate the body, and are vital for muscle, nerve, and brain function.
Lime or lemon juice add a tart, fresh taste to the gummies and are both high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
This summer, mix up your sports drink routine with hydrating electrolyte gummies, and get some extra immune support with cherry vitamin C gummies.
